‘body of sound’

as a  series of composite oil on canvas paintings, these works explore sound as the matrix of infinite folds of space, movement and time containing our conscious becoming.  

 

The visceral relationship between the ‘skin’ of medium and subject, the body of infinite folds and surfaces that twist and weave through compressed time and space reflect the resonant wave patterns of sound.  

 

Through various foldings of sensibilities, the nomadic subject is always in the process of becoming. Individual subjects expand through interference patterns, like drops in liquid within an overall sea of sound, and the permeable skin of our separating surfaces resound with the wave patterns from other sources. We dwell in each others’ ‘soundspaces’.
